The Change from Business to Family

The words lock together in full accord, read from the same recently published book. They divide the wisdom and call on each other to tell it. The woman is so photogenic that I don't immediately think of her as expert. The man is quickly handed the job of sitting on the pile of scientific consensus. They live in far-flung American cities and they mention the change to Autumn like neighbors across a fence. Clean, groomed, reserved, "We are not strangers visiting," the man says, "We are family."
