that I don't immediately think of her
as expert. The man is quickly handed
the job of sitting on the
pile of scientific consensus.
They live in far-flung American cities
and they mention the change to Autumn
like neighbors across a fence.
Clean, groomed, reserved,
"We are not strangers visiting,"
the man says, "We are family."
