New Biographical Note
Don
started out as a social scientist. He holds a Ph.D. In Social
Psychology and a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Physics. One of
his best mentors was a phenomenologist who taught him to focus on
exact descriptions of what he sees, often going way beyond the
obvious.
What
Don has evolved is a way to make hypotheses about what things really
are. He believes that it's not necessary to reproduce things like a
camera, but it is essential to do what human beings do, try to figure
out what we are seeing and codify essences into something that hangs
together like a system. Don is more of a theorist than a
story-teller, making theories and models.
Don
has previously published many volumes of poetry, his first in 1996.
He is featured in a many print and online publications and his work
has been translated into Chinese for cultural exchange abroad. He has
won prizes for his work through the Inter-board Poetry Contest. Don
is equally comfortable with the visual arts, photography, painting
and drawing.
