Here we sit
happily on our
pedestal of scale,
halfway between large
and small.

As we rest
under the soles of stars
our teeth crush mountains.
We impale planets
under our brooms.

Some float
among the galaxies.
Some spend lifetimes
amid ridges
on grains of sand.
