Honor Society

I finally remembered the ceremony
while I sang the song
about how I saw you
last night and got that
old feeling: how we
stood in that room
and the heart of solemnity
hovered over us granting
admission into the honorary
fellowship of I and you.
We were to use those words
to address each other
until death stole
the titles from us.
